Ensuring Quality Care at Home

Letting someone into the sanctity of your home is a big step. It is natural to want to make sure that you’re making the right decision and relying on people that won’t let you down.

At Sylvan Home Care, we set the bar extremely high, ensuring that the care we offer meets the very highest of standards, while never compromising the compassion and friendly approach that we are known for.

Person-centred care based on needs and preferences

The care and support we deliver is based on your needs, abilities and preferences. We create completely bespoke care plans based which are reviewed regularly to ensure changing needs are recognised and met.

Fully trained carers

Our training and development programmes ensure that all of our carers have the skills necessary to provide high-quality care. As well as completing a full induction which covers policies, procedures and company values, carers receive comprehensive training in dementia, safeguarding, moving and handling and administering of medication. All new carers also shadow the main carer for a minimum of one week, ensuring that they get the opportunity to get to know the person that they are supporting before they attend their home alone.

Quality Assurance Process

We take quality care extremely seriously. As well as our team of experienced and highly trained carers, our senior team regularly undertake quality checks to ensure that everyone who works with Sylvan receives high quality care. We undertake regular service monitoring, including quality calls and service delivery checks.

"Their friendly staff not only ensured Mum’s welfare but also raised her spirits, despite all her difficulties. She had many a laugh with them and enjoyed their company, I have no hesitation recommending Sylvan Care: they go that ‘extra mile’ and provide a first-class service. A big thank you to all at Sylvan."

Whistleblowing and transparency

We have a strict whistleblowing policy, encouraging carers to let us know if they see or experience anything that they are concerned about. The health and wellbeing of our staff and the poeple they support is extremely important to us and we have a warm, open and supportive culture which encourages transparency and honesty. All visits are logged and staff are encouraged to record details and report directly to the office if they see anything that could be described as unusual or untoward.

Regulated by the Care Quality Commission

Our home care services are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. Their job is to offer peace of mind by ensuring that health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, and high-quality care.
